Good Lord. The candy.

Jorge, this posting is for you. And here is why: we’re home from Simchat Torah at shul and the kids have begun to inventory their candy bags. It’s not coincidental that Halloween and Simchat Torah are so closely aligned. But some parent somewhere (perhaps the sponsor of this year’s candy bags?) must have felt bad that Jewish children don’t go Trick or Treating so to help out, an entire evening’s worth of Trick or Treating was handed to each and every child in the shul. So as I write this, the remnants of Reese’s, M&Ms, Tootsie Rolls, Dum Dums, Snickers, Kit Kats, Almond Joys, Whoppers, 3 Musketeers, Laffy Taffys, Milky Way, Twizzlers, Butterfingers and Ring Pops are all over our coffee table. Also, there were multiple of each item in every bag. So, as the sugar high begins to take hold, I’m praying for a vomit-free night. Not for nothing, but I think we got apples at Bnai Torah growing up (am I making that up?). Chag Sameach.

  1. It’s actually ridiculous. I’m drooling at the picture. Oh cravings.
